Personality: Cloud starts to become more and more unconfident as the plot goes on, wondering if he truly can save people from the Heartless. But eventually something will happen (I'll add it later when it does happen, but I can't say right now) to cause him to stop caring about his self confidence and just fight to protect. Caring, but also a little bit confused about these emotions, he has a slightly hard time being with people. Seeming to always know what he has to do, Cloud will go to any lengths to accomplish just that.
Physical Appearance:
Most of the time, Cloud wears a blue suit, with a red cape flowing behind him. Attached to his hand is a claw, and on his back is his famous giant bustersword. His long spikey black hair just makes him even more memorable, and since part of his face is almost always covered by his cape, he just gets better and better.
Equipment: He usually carries his Bustersword, a giant sword that is able to cut through anything in his way.
Combat Style: Cloud tends to fight carelessly, and without hestitation, making him a dangerous opponent, but also opening up many opportunities to be hit. Whenever he gets into too deep of a battle, he'll make sure to finish off the opponent at whatever means neccessary, even if that means taking himself down at the same time.
History:
Cloud had been fighting the darkness inside for a long time. Ever since that day when Aerith Gainsborough had died by the hands of a murderer named Sephiroth. When Cloud saw what Sephiroth had done, he'd vowed to bring down Sephiroth at whatever costs. His goal was to bring down Sephiroth, and thus he traveled all over the world in order to do that. Encountering countless enemies, and few friends, Cloud finally met Sephiroth again.
When meteor was summoned to crash into the planet and destroy all living things, the journey was no longer about Aerith, though. This journey had the planet, and every living things life on the line. They had traveled to a place in the north where it was said to be the "Promised Land." This was the place where all the mako energy seemed to be gathering at. It was here that the planet faced the same sort of catastrophe a long time ago. It was Jenova back then, and now it was her son, Sephiroth that would be the entity that would cause the planet to suffer.
At the promised land however there was a large crater. Inside the crater Cloud sensed that Sephiroth was inside. Cloud and the others proceeded down into the crater and had one final showdown with Sephiroth. The battle was over and the heroes triumphed as they left the North Crater; Cloud seemed to feel that Aerith was there. After that incident there was a few years that had gone by as everyone started to take on normal lives. Cloud started his own business of transporting items, but something happened one day. On one of his travels back to Edge (Midgar) he was attacked by a band of silver haired youngsters. He fought them off and suffered minor injuries.
He had gotten a call from Rufus Shinra, President of Shinra Corp. and had decided to drop in. Rufus started to inform Cloud that the youngsters that attacked him are like spirits. Spirits replicated as larva for Sephiroth's return. Cloud heard this an decided to go and stop them. He battled the youngsters another time, but had to be rescued by Vincent Valentine, a comrade from a few years ago. Cloud asks Vincent if sin could ever be forgiven. Vincent simply replies that he has never tried it before. Cloud takes this answer and decides to try it himself as he went back to Edge. At this moment Edge is under attack by the youngsters as they searched in vain for Jenova's head.
Little did they know that Rufus Shinra had been carrying that head all along in a small black containment box. Rufus tries to destroy the box by leaping off a building, but fails. One of the youngsters named Kadaj gets a hold of it. Kadaj takes the head and flees the scene with Cloud chasing him. A short battle commences with Cloud defeating the other two easily and continuing his chase after Kadaj. Kadaj fights Cloud for a bit and resorts to fusing with Jenova's head and becomes Sephiroth. Cloud tries to solve his conflicts within him as he fights against Sephiroth. At the end he figures out some of the asnwers and is able to defeat Sephiroth. As Sephiroth fades away Kadaj falls from the sky and dies in Cloud's arms.
However the youngsters that are still left behind cause a massive explosion that made Cloud to fall from the building, and land in the pond that had appeared inside the church he was sleeping at. Cloud helps the children in the pond to heal their sickness. As he looks at the entrance to the church and see Aeris. She smiles at him and walks off with Zack following closely behind. Cloud then starts living his days well again until the darkness came. Creatures he had never seen before started to plague his planet. He fought them with his friends, but their efforts weren't enough. The planet disappeared and his friends were scattered across the universe.
Cloud awakens in an unknown world and he goes on a search for his light. He finds out later on that Aeris is alive, and he stays with her for a bit. Later on he decides to go off on his own to search for his light once again.
