---Kingdom Hearts: Fairytale Memories Character
[/u][/i][/center]Name: Squall Leonhart
Alias:(If Any) More commonly known as Leon
Age: 28 (As of August 23)
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Profession: Carrier fighter
Rank: Leader of the RGRUC, or at least the Upkeep part of that, now a days
Alignment: Twilight, or what-have-you for chaotic neutral
Home World: Archipelago
Personality: Squall Leonhart appears to be a lot of things; cold, stand-off-ish, anti-social. And while that's true to an outer extent, Leon has grown through all the trial and tribulations of life to care about people's problems far more than his own. Which is not to say that doesn't cause problems of it's own: while he cares for people and his home, about order, Leon also ignores his own problems. He's a very deep thinker and intelligent as he is, it's difficult for him to show too much emotion. Working with Cid, Yuffie, Aerith, and (occasionally) Cloud has opened this man's eyes and heart to things beyond just good and evil, the Heartless and the People. Sora, Donald, and Goofy have also taught him that it isn't just enough to want to protect others in order to make a person whole, and although he is still stubborn beyond all reason (even as far to say as bull-headed), it's his tenaciousness that allows him the determination and will power to care, to learn from his own pain and mistakes.
Generally, for the most part, Leon has appears somewhat happier than he used too, even going so far as to be seen smiling a bit, but there are still personal issues he's attempting to work through, now that things have settled more-- it has brought back a large sting of nostalgia and much of the negativity that Leon had been known for. Regardless of his easier nature, the man is still distancing himself from others in a desperate attempt to keep away from the edge of fear of loss that resides deep within his heart. But that doesn't stop the outside, in spite of his insecure nature, afraid of what people think of him, from being strong; Leon will be snarling and angry, but he'll still fly right into battle to save those that need the help, whether he turns out to need saving himself or not (which sometimes tends to be a large amount of the time). And aside from that, he's actually extremely paranoid, paired with an obvious obsessive compulsion that fuels much of what he does-- such as the small rituals that the day consists off, on top of the usual workload. Tends to appreciate crunching numbers when all else fails for a distraction.
Leon is still rather attentive. Very much like an endless well that no amount of knowledge can fill, considering his tendencies to study and study heavily, on whatever he can get his hands on. But what makes this man a leader, no matter how much he wishes that he wasn't, is Leon's ability to own up to responsibility and his charismatic aura that draws people to him. He listens, problems solves, and even while he's not off for the better, a master tactician and gunblader, it's what Leon is good at-- the only satisfaction now is that Radiant Garden is physically restored to something far better than it was, in all its shining glory.
Physical Appearance: [Image]
Despite his aura and long legs, which makes him appear larger than he really is, Leon isn't really all that tall, standing at about roughly five-foot-ten. And his stalky but broad frame, in spite of being so lean, actually has quite a fair amount of weighted, firm, taut muscle behind it-- coming in about at about a good weight, naturally, of a hundred and eighty or so pounds. He's a seasoned warrior and has a fair collection of scars (two of the most prominent are the ones Edea left behind-- ice-spike puncture wounds that have scarred over at the left shoulder and lower abdomen, both from and back of the torso). But the most signature one is the vivid, somewhat paled-out scar stretching between Leon's nose, stating from above the eyebrow to just below the right eye, at a clear, diagonal level. This doesn't really mar anything, but in most cases, tends to make his face memorable. But that's not the only thing. Among this man's aristocratic, smooth features and high cheek bones, he has a pair of sharp, oft narrowed into a scowl, pair of slate-grey eyes that tend to storm near-blue-grey when in emotional situations. Being in garden has lended a bit of a tan, though not much, taking away the complete pale of Leon's skin and lending warmer tone, matched by shaggy lion's-mane, mussed chocolate-brown hair that falls into Leon's face much of the time-- no longer bothering to keep it cropped much other than every once in a while, layered and tending to leave it unbrushed out of sheer distaste for spending too much time on appearances. Leon doesn't really care much for facial hair, and that adds to his youthful stance, though, save the times when Leon doesn't have the time to maintain that.
Leon doesn't fair well with heavy armor or anything, and instead relies on accessories to help boost stats. He generally no longer needs construction clothes, so it's most common to see him in his usual attire, which consists of the favored white work shirt, a V neckline hemmed in, tucked into semi-baggy black leather pants. Of which has long zippers on both the outer side of the pant legs that nearly reach the belt line and three, evenly spaced belt-snaps to keep them from being too baggy at the thighs, also on both the outer sides of the pant legs and the zips are somewhat undone up to a bit above the ankles. Leon is also pretty well known for the number of belts he wears, as well as his distinctive jacket. The belts total to seven, several red-ish-brown, two of which are slung around his trim waist in a crossed manner --both studded, but the other has a distinctive, floral-like buckle-- and the three leather straps on his left arm that start from just above Leon's wrist and space evenly up. There other two are black, the first being the one actually holding up Leon's pants, and the other is, in all actuality, a Cosmic Belt, for defense, slung in between the other belts and has a fitted holster for his gunblade, when he carries it with him, which, at first glance, almost looks like a gun-holster, but not quite. And as far as foot-wear goes, just a pair of solid, steel-toed, zipped-in-the-front black work boots feel the best.
The jacket is among one of the few accessories that Leon allows himself. It's almost a half-jacket with short sleeves, made of heavy, worn leather with both outside and inside breast pockets. It's distinctive for the feathered-out almost completely white fur ruff that spreads out and shields Leon's shoulders and slender throat. It's not only decorated with a pair of crimson wings on the back, but also the symbol of Griever on the left sleeve, and despite the zipper, Leon doesn't really bother with closing it. The other accessories are the simple studded earrings (one of which acts like a Soldier's Earing, for defense, and the other for boosting magic, since Leon has so little of it), his heavy, platinum pendant he calls Griever --shaped like a lion's roaring head, ending in a crucifix-like, engraved end, though there is no religious meaning to it-- setting around his neck with a thick chain, and a ring (also known as Griever) with the carved image of the self-same lion image into the thick band hidden by heavy leather gloves that have distinct pattern on the backs to help safe guard sensitive hands and knuckles.
Equipment: Gunblade: Revolver model a blade that had, at one point in time, snapped and needed replacing, thanks to the stress it had undergone years before; the engraving of the griffin is no longer there, and instead of the cumbustion chambers that had been what consisted the gun aspect, of which had damaged the metal to begin with, there is now a less longer, modified version of the blade, disigned to actually act as a firearm at closer rangers, due to the lack of accuracy from too far a distance. Otherwise, there is till the original handle and revolver chamber, slightly modified to allow thinner, less bulkier bullets.
Lionheart: Which is, of course, a left over from his world and very rarely used. It has unique properties. The blade is a bright, but soft blue crystal like material and is extremely light weigh and capable of cutting through most things like butter. The Lionheart still has the cumbustion/vibration system that added power, but this blade can take the stress; meaning, unlike the Revolver, it cannot actually fire bullets and requires special ammo, since it can only fire pulse ammunition.
Ammunition: Leon can use several different types of ammunition with his gunblades. His stock consists of pulse ammunition (acts like a shotgun blast, except only on contact with a target, much like a shockwave effect, hende the name), dark ammunition (causes blindness status affect), and fire ammunition (hits and causes a fair amount of fire damage as well). Leon takes times and effort in creating said ammunition, considering much of his weaponry requires unique sets and there is no one he knows of that makes gunblade ammunition.
Drawn Spells: Scan 15, Silence 4 ,Dispel 18, Protect 4, Shell 14, Haste 12, Slow 4, Stop 4, Aura 1, Cura 20, Curaga 8, Life 4, Full-Life 1, Regen 2, Esuna 12, Blizzara 10, Blizzaga 4, Thundara 12, Thundaga 9, Holy 3, Ultima 2, Float 12, Aero 9
(Note: Although hardly used, Leon does have reminants of his old life: spells were kept as items, other otherwise known as "drawn spells" that had been stocked. This is a third of his drawn spell list from my save-file game of the FFVIII game, disc 4.)
Items: This are just emergency/everyday items that Leon carries arround with him, given the circustances and how much stuff he actually has in his jacket pockets. Of which consist the following: 3 Potions, 2 Hi-Potions, 2 Ethers, and in case all else fails-- 1 Elixer. Also a USB cable, about four inches long, just in case; a few business cards (on suggestion from Cid) for the Committee, some pocket changes of munny that varies from time to time, house and safe keys, odds and ends to things Leon finds and collects, a nice pen that had been a birthday gift from Merlin some years back (mostly unused), and the letter that he'd recieved not too long ago from Rinoa, looking rather worse from wear for hw many times Leon had read the thing and folded it into his jacket pocket (kept with him at all times).
And as far as equipment goes, it should be fairly well noted, as a helpful hint, that within his cellar of his home, Leon has odds and ends of things as well, but mostly, that his house is fairly well armed. Meaning he has a weapons cache of hand-crafted, custom made firearms designed for the imminate, or in his sense of paranoia, somewhat liekly off-chance that Garden or his home might actually be under attack, and such things would be needed in order to defend it. there's also a fencing sword laying about that hasn't been used in some time, and Leon does, in fact, has a sofisticated sniper rifle and scope that was also a remnant of his life in Balamb Garden, and tends to sit about (not collecting dust, because f his extreme OCD tendencies to do maintanence on said equipment).
Combat Style: Leon fights like the sarcastic, proud man that he is-- due to sheer physical strength and trained speed, he can, as a matter of fact, appear as a wild beast. This is mostly thanks to his unpredictability within battles. His gunblade is a one-of-a-kind weapon and tends to catch most sentiant opponents off guard if they haven't seen it before, which is often the case. Leon is feirce, but also relaxed, and tends to circle first, like a lion stalking its prey, observing, before closing in with a ranged attack to catch people off guard, yet again, and then swoop in for the finishing blow. He's incredibly fast (though, not as fast as, say, Sephiroth, considering Leon isn't one of THE fastest), taunts to gets reactions, and doesn't let old battle wounds affect his movements. And will, in fact, fight dirty, when need be; once a mercenary, always a mercenary, and Leon was designed, more or less to tank things and keep going, no matter what.
Limmit breaks, for Leon, usually consist when he either, a) has the energy for it, meaning at the beginning of a high-tense situation battle or just when the most useful attack at the time, or b) when seriously injured, as a last-ditch effort. But most important of all, is Leon's range-- he has a LOT of it. He can generally hit targets from just about anywhere and isn't too bad at hand to hand, either. A close range fighter are you? No problem! Like to hang back and keep others at a distance? Hey, easily taken care off. Leon is a seasoned, and well trained fighter, and it pretty much shows, even when he's injured and people use his own weaknesses against him. Opertunity always was the best offense and defense. And thanks to his training, Leon is fairly adept at blades of most kinds, as well as firearms, considering the need to learn both sides of the aspect that is the Gunblade, of which is why it takes so many years to master.
Abilities:
Draw: This ability literally draws memories from others, usually just spells. On his homeworld, this ability was used freely. Now, due to the lack of connection with a world that no longer exists, it take concentration and more energy to use it. This also includes using draw spells, which also take energy.
Equipping drawn spells: An ability from his world that works in tandem with Draw-- equipping a set level of drawn spells to boost attributes. (PM for spells list, as small as it is.)
Fire Magic: Leon can use fire based magic (Fire, Fira, Firaga), although used sparingly and from a distance, firing them from his hands.
Junction: Which means attaching a GF summon to your mind. Leon's junctions include Shiva and Cerberus, however, they are inert and their power dormant since the disconnect from Leon's world, and there for useless. Shiva is usually junctioned out of habit.
Immunities: Fire, in general, including magic sources of it, Leon is immune to, however, not to the effects of such things as smoke inhilation, especially since only one of his lungs functions completely and the other is still fairly scar-damaged. Also, Magnet-- this does little to him, as it would most oponents, thanks mostly to his powerful stances. Time magic and affects, thanks to Time Compression, isn't his immunity, but when around him, it either has strange affects or fizzles out entirely-- the man also tends to confuse clocks...
Limits:
Rensokuken: This limit isn't technically a limit: it's just Leon pulling the trigger to his gunblade. But it is used in combination with Rough Divide, Fated Circle, and Blasting Zone.
Rough Divide: High-powered slash attack added to the end of Rensokuken.
Fated Circle: A shockwave attack added to the end of Rensokuken.
Blasting Zone: A combination blast of firaga/pulse ammunition added to the end of Rensokuken.
Lionheart: This ability is used with his weapon, encasing it in iridescent light and lengthening it, giving Leon a much larger range of attack as well as a power boost for a short amount of time. Also used sparingly and in tight battle situations.
History: Squall Leonhart was born in a place called Winhill, in Esther on his home world. His mother, Raine Leonhart, died shortly after birth and his father, Laguna Loire, was never even aware of the birth, having left quite some time before either of them new Raine was even with child. He was sent off to be raised in an orphanage run by Cid Kramer and his wife Edea with a girl Raine had raised named Ellone, growing up to call her 'Sis'. Squall only remember waiting for Sis, mostly due to the fact that once he was old enough (unadopted), he was enrolled into the SeeD program in Balamb Garden and had started junctioning a Guardian Force (GF), which thrive on memories.
As things escalated and the world grew more and more dangerous thanks to Edea trying to take over, Squall was thrust into a leadership position, tracking down Seifer, the boy that had fought him and they had given each other's twin scars to each other, in between Edea's attacks, Rinoa becoming a sorceress, and Irvine discovering what Squall himself (as well as Quistis, Zell, and Selphie) had forgotten thanks to the GFs. It turned out that a sorceress from the future named Ultimecia had taken over Edea, the woman who had raised him, and the one Cid Kramer had made created SeeD for, and was attempting to take over all of Time. Rinoa was the next sorceress in line, the girl Squall had began to fall in love with. And at one point in time, was capture by Seifer, risen just in time with a life draw, after Edea had punctured him through, twice, with ice-spikes-- this happened around the time of D-District Prison, and Squall's/Leon's memories are still extremely fuzzy of this point in time, and mostly just remembers the interrogation Seifer put him through ins flashes.
However, when the time came to go to Lunatic Pandora, after Sorceress Abel was accidentally freed, something went terribly wrong before the Time Compression. Heartless began to invade. Before Rinoa could channel Ultimecia, while Ellone was compressing the present, future, and past, the Darkness tore Squall's world apart, taking it all in the confusion-- leaving Squall alone and abandoned in a place called Radiant Garden. But even that was taken, and out of grief, left in Traverse Town with Cid, Aerith and Yuffie, Squall changed his name to Leon and spent the next several years rebuilding his life again.
The events that brought Sora and Donald and Goof along, things began to change once more. He was brought back to Hallow Bastion, restoring it with the others, slowly but surely, until it once more became Radiant Garden with the others. While almost half a year more has passed, making it two whole years since the beginning has, indeed, finally seen the glory of Garden return. Construction is finished, but there still lies a large amount of unrest, as there is still a bit of an economical situation (Garden as a surplus of silicon-like rock and lots of water, which is just about it, and hardly much else that doesn't rely on travelers coming and going), and some slight political issues of how things in Garden were run before the Committee stepped in.
Now, the man has his hands full with that and still trying to figure what it is exactly what Time Compression has affected in him.
It's no surprise, really, that trouble is brewing, but as far as Leon is concerned or knows of, Garden is his only priority and concern.
